Being a senior citizen and still being somewhat tech savoy, I am glad that I did not pay full price for this phone.
The feel is of cheap plastic. I can remember when my daughter was a child and I bought her a play plastic cell phone. This is what it reminds me of! "Cheap".
On my phone the volume is no louder than my 6 year old Razr V3. Even with it set to the Max position.
The other issue I have is with the accessories. The prices they charge are ridiculous. Why should we have to pay $25 to $30 dollars for a car charger made in China? Any other cell phone car charger ranges from $7 to $10 dollars. How about a spare battery, $25 to $45 dollars and that does not include shipping.
All and all I feel like the senior citizen is being taken advantage of.
For the price of this phone, they could have added a few useful features like maybe external speaker, blue tooth, option to delete just one number on the received call list, instead you have to delete all!
If you really need a phone of this type, I would wait until September 2010 for the sale of the EmporiaSolid and EmporiaElegance made by Emporia the Austrian company that is planning to market in the USA.
The phone has a lot more features, very robust and will cost about the same price as the Emporia Clarity C900.
The Emporia Solid will come out in Q3 2010 for €199 ($270) before subsidies. The Emporia Elegeance will come out a bit sooner in Q2 2010 for €129 ($175) before subsidies.

The buttons are easy to hit, the sound is great. All other phones have really tiny buttons which make it hard to dial. Also the others I've used I have to turn way up in order to hear the person I'm talking with. DSI really does a great job with this cell phone.

I just got this phone and it is much better than any previous cell phone I have ever had. Never had a phone for hearing impaired persons before. It is really loud and I can see all of the buttons
