I have used this system, and while it works, their approach to the notification system is absolute garbage for 2 reasons. Let me explain using its baby cry signaler: Reason 1: The monitor has a sensitivity setting, but as soon as it hears a sound, it will not activiate. It MUST hear the sound continuously for 4 seconds straight, before it will activitate. This means, when your baby wakes up, and babbles away, the monitor will not go off. Most of the time babies just talk and pause between words. The baby must make a continuous sound for 4 seconds straight, which means usually it has to cry. Then it will finally start flashing the light. Basically that means you can be in the living room watching TV or sleeping while the baby has been up for a while trying to call you before it finally has to start screaming for 4 seconds straight. ("Mama, *pause* Mama *pause* mama" won't set it off) - I replaced it with Sonic Alert system, and the baby monitor will activiate AS SOON AS it hears a sound. If I'm watching TV, then as soon as my baby starts talking, my lights flash so I know right away. The monitor itself is much, much more sensitive. If I turn the sensitivity up max, it will flash when the door to the baby's room creaks. So that gives me much more flexibility. Reason 2: When I turn its sensitivity up to the max, it's not as sensitive as I would like, unless it is put as close to the baby as possible. I basically have to put it inside the crib with the baby. If I have it on a drawer in another part of the room, it will not hear the baby. - The sonic alert monitor I am using now, is hyper sensitive. Right now my baby is sleeping in one corner, the monitor is plugged in the other corner of the room. At the right sensitivity settings, all my baby has to do is speak "dada", and it will flash. There is one more reason but this review has limited amount I can type in. (flashes for 24 seconds long, even if the baby screams and falls asleep quickly)

I babysit for my daughter while she's working. Having the AM-600 is making it easier. I can get my things done and be able to monitor my grandson at the same time. I never realized how much I was missing... friends stopping by, missed calls. This was a nice Gift I really use.
